A car's battery is much stronger than the one in your bike. Make sure that the car is not turned on or started since there is enough juice to fire you up. You want to connect the cable to the car's positive post first, and then to the one on your bike. Most of the time, this is going to be the red connector but you do want to visually confirm it is the right one. It is very important that you do not touch any metal since this can short the electrical system out or cause a fire.
Connect the remaining clamp to the negative post on the car and then the other side to any metal on the bike. Make sure you are not connecting it to chrome. You may notice a small spark when you do this, but don't panic because this is fairly common.
